And people say I am exaggerating…..

Slice of Laodicea posted a link for a site called WingClips™. the site is a set of clips from todays hit movies for pastors to put into their sermons, And if thats not crazy enough, they have entire sermons based off movie clips for the premium members (lazy pastors who rather pay for a sermon than right one).

Have we really come to this? Pastors taking clips from movies full of sexually explicit material and profanity and tying it into a sermon or worse yet basing a whole “sermon” on a clip from X-men 2.

The site states that: “Now you can view inspirational movie clips from many of your favorite films. These WingClips™ can also be downloaded to use in your church, school or other non-profit organization for FREE.”

As the head of a flock, pastors have the duty to preach the Word!! don’t tell me how Jessica Alba in spandex is a way to show marriage responsibility or that the Silver surfer is Christ-like. Instead, preach how marriage is supposed to model the relationship the church has with Christ or that we cannot be perfect like Christ so we must have his salvation.

I wish I could say that this is satire. Just to show how ridiculous this is lets look at a sermon based off a clip from the movie Walk the Line:

The main idea of the sermon is that when you believe in yourself, people believe in you and that we walk around singing a song that people don’t believe because we haven’t learned that God values our unique voice and that He wants us to live from our hearts.

Due to Copyright reasons, I did not post the actual sermon. Please visit the site to see it there.

Last time I checked, my heart is wicked and God wants us to live for Him from HIS WORD. Also, believing in oneself is called self righteousness and pride. You are supposed to trust and believe in Jesus Christ not yourself.

If you have a pastor that preaches the word , be sure to find a time to tell them that you thank them for being a good shepherd. If you have a pastor that preaches stuff from WinClips™, tell him you want the Word of God in church not special effects and Spider Man.

God bless,
Anthony

Happy Easter

Happy Easter everyone!

Today, rather than thinking about chocolate bunny’s and colored eggs, think about Jesus Christ and that on Friday he was crucified and today HE IS RISEN. He underwent the most horrible death in history for the sin of earth but the maricle of it was that he rose on the third day which completed the debt we owed to God. Jews believe that Jesus died but that He did not rise from the dead. Only if Jesus rose are we able to be saved.

(Mat 26:47 NKJV)  And while He was still speaking, behold, Judas, one of the twelve, with a great multitude with swords and clubs, came from the chief priests and elders of the people.
(Mat 26:48 NKJV)  Now His betrayer had given them a sign, saying, “Whomever I kiss, He is the One; seize Him.”
(Mat 26:49 NKJV)  Immediately he went up to Jesus and said, “Greetings, Rabbi!” and kissed Him.
(Mat 26:50 NKJV)  But Jesus said to him, “Friend, why have you come?” Then they came and laid hands on Jesus and took Him.
(Mat 26:51 NKJV)  And suddenly, one of those who were with Jesus stretched out his hand and drew his sword, struck the servant of the high priest, and cut off his ear.
(Mat 26:52 NKJV)  But Jesus said to him, “Put your sword in its place, for all who take the sword will perish [147] by the sword.
(Mat 26:53 NKJV)  Or do you think that I cannot now pray to My Father, and He will provide Me with more than twelve legions of angels?
(Mat 26:54 NKJV)  How then could the Scriptures be fulfilled, that it must happen thus?”
(Mat 26:55 NKJV)  In that hour Jesus said to the multitudes, “Have you come out, as against a robber, with swords and clubs to take Me? I sat daily with you, teaching in the temple, and you did not seize Me.
(Mat 26:56 NKJV)  But all this was done that the Scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled.” Then all the disciples forsook Him and fled.
(Mat 26:57 NKJV)  And those who had laid hold of Jesus led Him away to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were assembled.
(Mat 26:58 NKJV)  But Peter followed Him at a distance to the high priest’s courtyard. And he went in and sat with the servants to see the end.
(Mat 26:59 NKJV)  Now the chief priests, the elders, [148] and all the council sought false testimony against Jesus to put Him to death,
(Mat 26:60 NKJV)  but found none. Even though many false witnesses came forward, they found none. [149] But at last two false witnesses [150] came forward
(Mat 26:61 NKJV)  and said, “This fellow said, ‘I am able to destroy the temple of God and to build it in three days.’ ”
(Mat 26:62 NKJV)  And the high priest arose and said to Him, “Do You answer nothing? What is it these men testify against You?”
(Mat 26:63 NKJV)  But Jesus kept silent. And the high priest answered and said to Him, “I put You under oath by the living God: Tell us if You are the Christ, the Son of God!”
(Mat 26:64 NKJV)  Jesus said to him, “It is as you said. Nevertheless, I say to you, hereafter you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Power, and coming on the clouds of heaven.”
(Mat 26:65 NKJV)  Then the high priest tore his clothes, saying, “He has spoken blasphemy! What further need do we have of witnesses? Look, now you have heard His blasphemy!
(Mat 26:66 NKJV)  What do you think?” They answered and said, “He is deserving of death.”
(Mat 26:67 NKJV)  Then they spat in His face and beat Him; and others struck Him with the palms of their hands,
(Mat 26:68 NKJV)  saying, “Prophesy to us, Christ! Who is the one who struck You?”
(Mat 26:69 NKJV)  Now Peter sat outside in the courtyard. And a servant girl came to him, saying, “You also were with Jesus of Galilee.”
(Mat 26:70 NKJV)  But he denied it before them all, saying, “I do not know what you are saying.”
(Mat 26:71 NKJV)  And when he had gone out to the gateway, another girl saw him and said to those who were there, “This fellow also was with Jesus of Nazareth.”
(Mat 26:72 NKJV)  But again he denied with an oath, “I do not know the Man!”
(Mat 26:73 NKJV)  And a little later those who stood by came up and said to Peter, “Surely you also are one of them, for your speech betrays you.”
(Mat 26:74 NKJV)  Then he began to curse and swear, saying, “I do not know the Man!” Immediately a rooster crowed.
(Mat 26:75 NKJV)  And Peter remembered the word of Jesus who had said to him, “Before the rooster crows, you will deny Me three times.” So he went out and wept bitterly.
(Mat 27:1 NKJV)  When morning came, all the chief priests and elders of the people plotted against Jesus to put Him to death.
(Mat 27:2 NKJV)  And when they had bound Him, they led Him away and delivered Him to Pontius [151] Pilate the governor.
(Mat 27:3 NKJV)  Then Judas, His betrayer, seeing that He had been condemned, was remorseful and brought back the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders,
(Mat 27:4 NKJV)  saying, “I have sinned by betraying innocent blood.” And they said, “What is that to us? You see to it!”
(Mat 27:5 NKJV)  Then he threw down the pieces of silver in the temple and departed, and went and hanged himself.
(Mat 27:6 NKJV)  But the chief priests took the silver pieces and said, “It is not lawful to put them into the treasury, because they are the price of blood.”
(Mat 27:7 NKJV)  And they consulted together and bought with them the potter’s field, to bury strangers in.
(Mat 27:8 NKJV)  Therefore that field has been called the Field of Blood to this day.
(Mat 27:9 NKJV)  Then was fulfilled what was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet, saying, “And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the value of Him who was priced, whom they of the children of Israel priced,
(Mat 27:10 NKJV)  and gave them for the potter’s field, as the Lord directed me.” [152]
(Mat 27:11 NKJV)  Now Jesus stood before the governor. And the governor asked Him, saying, “Are You the King of the Jews?” So Jesus said to him, “It is as you say.”
(Mat 27:12 NKJV)  And while He was being accused by the chief priests and elders, He answered nothing.
(Mat 27:13 NKJV)  Then Pilate said to Him, “Do You not hear how many things they testify against You?”
(Mat 27:14 NKJV)  But He answered him not one word, so that the governor marveled greatly.
(Mat 27:15 NKJV)  Now at the feast the governor was accustomed to releasing to the multitude one prisoner whom they wished.*
(Mat 27:16 NKJV)  And at that time they had a notorious prisoner called Barabbas. [153]
(Mat 27:17 NKJV)  Therefore, when they had gathered together, Pilate said to them, “Whom do you want me to release to you? Barabbas, or Jesus who is called Christ?”
(Mat 27:18 NKJV)  For he knew that they had handed Him over because of envy.
(Mat 27:19 NKJV)  While he was sitting on the judgment seat, his wife sent to him, saying, “Have nothing to do with that just Man, for I have suffered many things today in a dream because of Him.”
(Mat 27:20 NKJV)  But the chief priests and elders persuaded the multitudes that they should ask for Barabbas and destroy Jesus.
(Mat 27:21 NKJV)  The governor answered and said to them, “Which of the two do you want me to release to you?” They said, “Barabbas!”
(Mat 27:22 NKJV)  Pilate said to them, “What then shall I do with Jesus who is called Christ?” They all said to him, “Let Him be crucified!”
(Mat 27:23 NKJV)  Then the governor said, “Why, what evil has He done?” But they cried out all the more, saying, “Let Him be crucified!”
(Mat 27:24 NKJV)  When Pilate saw that he could not prevail at all, but rather that a tumult was rising, he took water and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, “I am innocent of the blood of this just Person. [154] You see to it.”
(Mat 27:25 NKJV)  And all the people answered and said, “His blood be on us and on our children.”
(Mat 27:26 NKJV)  Then he released Barabbas to them; and when he had scourged Jesus, he delivered Him to be crucified.
(Mat 27:27 NKJV)  Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the Praetorium and gathered the whole garrison around Him.
(Mat 27:28 NKJV)  And they stripped Him and put a scarlet robe on Him.
(Mat 27:29 NKJV)  When they had twisted a crown of thorns, they put it on His head, and a reed in His right hand. And they bowed the knee before Him and mocked Him, saying, “Hail, King of the Jews!”
(Mat 27:30 NKJV)  Then they spat on Him, and took the reed and struck Him on the head.
(Mat 27:31 NKJV)  And when they had mocked Him, they took the robe off Him, put His own clothes on Him, and led Him away to be crucified.
(Mat 27:32 NKJV)  Now as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name. Him they compelled to bear His cross.
(Mat 27:33 NKJV)  And when they had come to a place called Golgotha, that is to say, Place of a Skull,
(Mat 27:34 NKJV)  they gave Him sour [155] wine mingled with gall to drink. But when He had tasted it, He would not drink.
(Mat 27:35 NKJV)  Then they crucified Him, and divided His garments, casting lots, [156] that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet: “They divided My garments among them, And for My clothing they cast lots.” [157]
(Mat 27:36 NKJV)  Sitting down, they kept watch over Him there.
(Mat 27:37 NKJV)  And they put up over His head the accusation written against Him: THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS.
(Mat 27:38 NKJV)  Then two robbers were crucified with Him, one on the right and another on the left.
(Mat 27:39 NKJV)  And those who passed by blasphemed Him, wagging their heads
(Mat 27:40 NKJV)  and saying, “You who destroy the temple and build it in three days, save Yourself! If You are the Son of God, come down from the cross.”
(Mat 27:41 NKJV)  Likewise the chief priests also, mocking with the scribes and elders, [158] said,
(Mat 27:42 NKJV)  “He saved others; Himself He cannot save. If He is the King of Israel, [159] let Him now come down from the cross, and we will believe Him. [160]
(Mat 27:43 NKJV)  He trusted in God; let Him deliver Him now if He will have Him; for He said, ‘I am the Son of God.’ ”
(Mat 27:44 NKJV)  Even the robbers who were crucified with Him reviled Him with the same thing.
(Mat 27:45 NKJV)  Now from the sixth hour until the ninth hour there was darkness over all the land.
(Mat 27:46 NKJV)  And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” that is, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?” [161]
(Mat 27:47 NKJV)  Some of those who stood there, when they heard that, said, “This Man is calling for Elijah!”
(Mat 27:48 NKJV)  Immediately one of them ran and took a sponge, filled it with sour wine and put it on a reed, and offered it to Him to drink.
(Mat 27:49 NKJV)  The rest said, “Let Him alone; let us see if Elijah will come to save Him.”
(Mat 27:50 NKJV)  And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice, and yielded up His spirit.
(Mat 27:51 NKJV)  Then, behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth quaked, and the rocks were split,
(Mat 27:52 NKJV)  and the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised;
(Mat 27:53 NKJV)  and coming out of the graves after His resurrection, they went into the holy city and appeared to many.
(Mat 27:54 NKJV)  So when the centurion and those with him, who were guarding Jesus, saw the earthquake and the things that had happened, they feared greatly, saying, “Truly this was the Son of God!”
(Mat 27:55 NKJV)  And many women who followed Jesus from Galilee, ministering to Him, were there looking on from afar,
(Mat 27:56 NKJV)  among whom were Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James and Joses, [162] and the mother of Zebedee’s sons.
(Mat 27:57 NKJV)  Now when evening had come, there came a rich man from Arimathea, named Joseph, who himself had also become a disciple of Jesus.
(Mat 27:58 NKJV)  This man went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus. Then Pilate commanded the body to be given to him.
(Mat 27:59 NKJV)  When Joseph had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth,
(Mat 27:60 NKJV)  and laid it in his new tomb which he had hewn out of the rock; and he rolled a large stone against the door of the tomb, and departed.
(Mat 27:61 NKJV)  And Mary Magdalene was there, and the other Mary, sitting opposite the tomb.
(Mat 27:62 NKJV)  On the next day, which followed the Day of Preparation, the chief priests and Pharisees gathered together to Pilate,
(Mat 27:63 NKJV)  saying, “Sir, we remember, while He was still alive, how that deceiver said, ‘After three days I will rise.’
(Mat 27:64 NKJV)  Therefore command that the tomb be made secure until the third day, lest His disciples come by night [163] and steal Him away, and say to the people, ‘He has risen from the dead.’ So the last deception will be worse than the first.”
(Mat 27:65 NKJV)  Pilate said to them, “You have a guard; go your way, make it as secure as you know how.”
(Mat 27:66 NKJV)  So they went and made the tomb secure, sealing the stone and setting the guard.
(Mat 28:1 NKJV)  Now after the Sabbath, as the first day of the week began to dawn, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb.
(Mat 28:2 NKJV)  And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, [164] and sat on it.
(Mat 28:3 NKJV)  His countenance was like lightning, and his clothing as white as snow.
(Mat 28:4 NKJV)  And the guards shook for fear of him, and became like dead men.
(Mat 28:5 NKJV)  But the angel answered and said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified.
(Mat 28:6 NKJV)  He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.
(Mat 28:7 NKJV)  And go quickly and tell His disciples that He is risen from the dead, and indeed He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him. Behold, I have told you.”
(Mat 28:8 NKJV)  So they went out quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to bring His disciples word.
(Mat 28:9 NKJV)  And as they went to tell His disciples, [165] behold, Jesus met them, saying, “Rejoice!” So they came and held Him by the feet and worshiped Him.
(Mat 28:10 NKJV)  Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid. Go and tell My brethren to go to Galilee, and there they will see Me.”
(Mat 28:11 NKJV)  Now while they were going, behold, some of the guard came into the city and reported to the chief priests all the things that had happened.

My testimony

This is just a piece of the story how Jesus Christ transformed my life. In a way, this is partially why I started this site. When I have a lot of time to sit and pray about it, I will post my full testimony.

I have grown up in church but never had a relationship with Christ and was mostly going through the motions. I lived in Alaska until my Jr. year of High school. During my Sophomore year, I experimented with pot and drank most weekends. When I moved to Reno I began attending a seeker sensitive church with a large youth group. I found it easy to become lost in the group and was able to continue “playing church”. The first time I attended Spirit Filled Church, I was welcomed by Pastor Gabriel and his wife as well as members of the youth group. The following weekend, the youth group went to Six Flags and rather than feeling like the new kid I was welcomed and quickly became very good friends with some of the youth. A week or two later the youth had their annual youth camp. There I had to deal with the feelings of depression and my lack of faith in God. The entire group was very helpful and Gabriel’s counsel and Godly love was a great blessing. It was at the camp I became saved. There have been many tough times between now and then but with the help of Pastor Gabriel and other people in the youth group I have gone far in my walk in Christ. I am now one of the youth leaders at SFC and the drama directer. It is my heart that when youth that are hurting or “playing church” come to the youth group I will be there to show Christs love, to pray for them and to point them to Christ.

I would love to hear a portion of how Christ changed your life. it is amazing to see what Jesus has done in the lives of others.

Do hard things…. what this generation needs!

Alex and Brett Harris wrote the book “do hard things”. A hardcover, Christian, non fiction book for teens is not expected to do well so they came up with a way of promoting the book called a book bomb. If a bunch of people order the book on the same day, the book will go high on amazons book chart and hopefully a non-Christian will see it and get saved.

God bless,

Anthony

Do Hard Things - Amazon Book Bomb

I took this description from their site the rebelution:

The next generation stands on the brink of a “rebelution.”

With over 14 million hits to their website TheRebelution.com, Alex and Brett Harris are leading the charge in a growing movement of Christian young people who are rebelling against the low expectations of their culture by choosing to “do hard things” for the glory of God.

Written when they were 18 years old, Do Hard Things is the Harris twins’ revolutionary message in its purest and most compelling form, giving readers a tangible glimpse of what is possible for teens who actively resist cultural lies that limit their potential.

Combating the idea of adolescence as a vacation from responsibility, the authors weave together biblical insights, history, and modern examples to redefine the teen years as the launching pad of life and map a clear trajectory for long-term fulfillment and eternal impact.

Written by teens for teens, Do Hard Things is packed with humorous personal anecdotes, practical examples, and stories of real-life rebelutionaries in action. This rallying cry from the heart of revolution already in progress challenges the next generation to lay claim to a brighter future, starting today.

What do ya wanna know??

I have thinking about a few things to post but haven’t gotten anything to my satisfaction as of yet. So, I figured that this would be a great opportunity for me to open the blog up for questions. If you have a question about anything that you would like me to give my opinion (or the Bibles rather in most cases) please leave a comment and I would be more than happy to respond.

I think that this will be a great way for this blog to be a little more of what you would like to see on here. Also, if you just have a suggestion for me post that as well.

God bless,
Anthony

Little bit of encouragement

Hello all,

I know its been a while. I have been busy moving and am swamped with homework. The Ever Stays Red show went awesome! There were 170+ people there and 5 got saved….. which means it was all worth it. PRAISE GOD!! Stay tuned for more shows I have in the works.

Recently, it seems that I have just been so busy that I have no time to write and then when I do have time I am discouraged or tired so I don’t get on.

I am writing a little bit of encouragement to any others that a just getting swamped or maybe anyone that is getting attacked right now. Remember to stay in the word and pray that Jesus keeps your faith in Him strong and you can make it through anything.

I hope to get on this weekend (maybe even sometime Friday) and write some stuff. If anyone is interested in writing a post or to for me to put up on the times I am in a lull please comment or email me and I will talk to you about it.

God bless,
Anthony
